WHO I AM
I am an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a strong focus on providing high quality medical care to women living in remote and regional communities.
Having commenced medical school at the University of Edinburgh, I then moved to London in my third year to complete a bachelor of Science degree in Immunology with Parasitology. I received my medical degree from Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’s School of Medicine in 2006.
I then worked in the United Kingdom for two years until emigrating to Australia in 2008.
I entered specialist training with The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011, and became a fellow of the college (FRANZCOG) in 2018.
Whilst in Australia, I have worked at The Cairns Hospital, The Townsville Hospital, The Mater Mothers in Brisbane as well as The Royal Darwin Hospital.
In 2018 I moved back to Cairns to commence working with the Birds of Paradise Women’s Health team. The closure of The Cairns Private Hospital Maternity service in 2023 affected me greatly as caring for mothers and babies in our community was an immensely rewarding part of my life.
In July 2024 I commenced my own private practice based at Apple Tree Medical in Smithfield to focus on achieving excellence in the field of gynaecology.
Outside of work, I am a keen gardener and orchid grower. I have a passion for environmental conservation and sustainable living, as well as dress making and costume design.
